SARDB opens its branch at Basohli 1/6/2015 11:16:28 PM Early Times Report Basohli, Jan 6: Jammu and Kashmir State Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (SARDB) opened its branch at Basohli in Kathua District. The branch of the bank was formally inaugurated in the presence of the local public and Mohammad Aslam Bhat MD/CEO of the bank, Mohammad Ilyas Khawaja GM, Ravinder Parihar Manager Estates, Saurab branch Manager Billawer and Subhash Kumar Sharma branch Manager Basohli. The branch was inaugurated by social activist Shiv Kumar Padha amidst the crowd of the peasents, farmers and the respected citizens of the town. Mohammad IlyasKhawaja GM of the Bank apprised the audience present on the occasion about the need and various beneficial features of the bank. He also emphasized upon the utility of the bank exclusively for the farmers, peasants and the tillers because according to him the Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture and Rural Development Bank has always stood by the farmers in the event of financial assistance to purchase seeds and implements. Speaking on the occasion Shiv Kumar Padha told that the bank stood already sanctioned by the Minister Manohar Lal Sharma but due to the imposition of the model code of conduct in the state the bank could not be opened. IN his address Shiv Kumar Padha called upon the audience to come forward and take the maximum benefit of the various schemes as started by the state government especially for the welfare of the farmer community. He also suggested that the bank should spare no efforts to take its services to the portals of its targeted beneficiaries. Mohammad Aslam Bhat MD/CEO of the Bank told the audience that the Bank, besides agriculture and its allied fields, will also extend its services in the social banking, loaning. He also apprised the audience regarding the facility of RD, Fixed deposits at comparably higher interest rates than the other banks of the state. The bank believes in utilizing the money for the welfare of the agriculturist community in the shape of loans and not merely to keep it in the chests hesaid.
