Kashmir gets Rs 10 Cr, Jammu only Rs 5 Cr funds to fight Covid-19 Discrimination continues! 8/2/2020 11:28:16 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 2: In yet another glaring example of alleged discrimination with Jammu, the J&K Government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore special Covid19 funds to Kashmir whereas the winter capital region has been given half the amount. Official documents reveal that on July 23, the State Executive Committee (SEC) which met in Srinagar sanctioned Rs. 15 crore under SDRF to major health institutions for further procuring essential labs and equipment for handling Covid19 pandemic. While the two leading healthcare institutions in Kashmir were given Rs five crore each totaling to Rs 10 crores, Jammu was given only Rs 5 crores. As per the official handout, SKIMS, Soura Srinagar and the Government Medical College Srinagar were sanctioned Rs 10 crore whereas the Government Medical College in Jammu has been sanctioned Rs.5 Crore. The funds shall be placed with Divisional Commissioners of Jammu as well as Kashmir for this purpose.
