Jammu, Aug 25: Government SPMR College of Commerce organized the orientation programme for the students of BCom Semester-I by the Department of English. The Principal Dr. (Prof.) Satinder Singh was the chief guest who in his address talked about the importance of good behavior of the students towards their teachers, parents and peers. He shared his experiences and thoughts with the students inspiring and guiding them to develop tendencies and action for becoming excellent achievers in their lives. Prof. Gopal Sharma, Incharge Academic Affairs, Main Campus of the College emphasized on the importance of self discipline and mental development in the students. The three day programme has been divided into two sessions wherein the faculty of English, Commerce, Economics, BCA and BBA are going to deliberate on behavior, conduct and career options of the students vis -a - vis college and society at large. The proceeding of today's session was conducted by Prof. Archana Kaul while the sessions were taken by Prof Javed Mughal, Prof. Bharti Salathia and Prof. Rekha Gupta.
Reen visits Digiana Ashram Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 25: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Gandhi Nagar assembly segment, Amrik Singh Reen, today visited Digiana Ashram to seek blessing from Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib. Amrik Singh Reen accompanied by senior leaders of the PDP today visited Digina Asharam of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji. While seeking blessing from Mahant Manjit Singh Ji, Reen assured that he would work assiduously for the welfare and upliftment of the people. He said that his mission of joining politics was to serve the people and to work for the socio-economic growth the commoners in general and weaker and marginalized sections in particular. Amrik Singh Reen further assured Mahant Manjit Singh Ji that he has formulated a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of refugees.He said that solution of the problems of the refugees was on top of his agenda. Incharge Gandhi Nagar constituency, Abdul Rashid Malik, Capt Anil Gour, Surjeet Kour, Talib Hussain, Gautam Gupta, Choudhary Akram, Harmeet Singh, Ranbir Singh Manga, Varinder Singh Sonu, Daljeet Singh Dicky, and others also addressed the meeting. |
