PHE daily wagers on hunger strike for regularization | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 25: All Jammu and Kashmir PHE daily wagers, ITI, CP workers casual labours today started 24 hours hunger strike in front of Chief Engineer office here at BC Road Jammu. According to press release, Association president Tanveer Hussain said that state government was not listening to their demands despite repeated assurances. " Government has given deadline of 10 days when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on August 13 said that government would fulfill over demands within 10 days but nothing fruitful came out", Hussain said and added that employees were fedup with the dilly delaying tactics of the state government. He further said that inflation was rising day by day and it was difficult for them to feed their families with this meager pay. The Kaam Chor hartall of 72 hours has no impact on the government and government has done nothing making mockery of the promises made with the poor daily wager employees. " They have only one demand which is to make their jobs permanent", Hussain said and adding that daily wagers employees are working from the last 15 years and waiting for the government order for making their job permanent. He appeals to all daily wager of PHE department to come and support in this agitation to put a pressure on the government in fulfilling their genuine, reasonable demands. Others who were present on the occasion Subash Chander, Deepak Gupta, Manjeet Singh, Kulbhushan Singh, Ranjeet Singh and Kuldeep Choudhary. |
