Gambhir demands compensation for cross border firing victims | | | Jammu, Aug 25: Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Senior Congress Leader and Incharge Youth Wing Dogra Sabha, Jammu today demanded adequate compensation for cross border firing victims. According to press release, he said that anguish was brewing among the people of the border villages of Bishnah Constituency who have been shifted to different schools and government buildings because of lack of necessary arrangements there. Taking into account the frequent incidents of heavy shelling/firing from across the border which resulted in causing tension amongst the people living in the border villages of the Jammu province, Gambhir urged the Union and State Government to immediately take Final decision for allotment of 5 Marlas plots and financial assistance for the shelter at some safer places to the people living on the border. He said that the human lives, crops, cattle and houses should immediately be insured by the government and the injured should be suitably compensated. "The agricultural land of the farmers falling between zero line and fencing on the Indo Pak border where they are not able to produce the crops and the cases for the compensation of the land under occupation of our forces also be decided once for all", he added. He informed that Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Former Member CWC-AICC has already left for Srinagar to meet and appeal the Chief Minister, J&K, Ministers, Legislators and Senior Leadership of all the Political Parties to rise above the party politics and put in their best of efforts in mitigating the problems being faced by the people living near the border. |
