Despite public cry traffic police takes half-hearted action against stunt bikers | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Speaking volumes about the "ineptness" of Traffic Police Department to deal with the mounting pest of stunt biking, residents in many city areas complained brazen violation of traffic laws by a group of minors who could be seen doing "eerie" stunts at some busy road junctions here. Blowing scary horns they came like a wind in a zigzag way, and disappear like a ghost, they might have seen their favorite actor doing it in the films and now these unwise youth have started practicing the same on the busy roads of Srinagar like Foreshore Road, Rajbagh, Chanapora, Padshahi Bagh, Hyderpora, Airport Road and wherever they find coaching centre with majority of girls cramming. Without any formal training a bunch of city teens could be seen doing real-life stunts on the jam packed roads of city, mainly during evening hours leaving people bewildered as to where the traffic police and other concerned authorities have gone. "These bikers have installed loud dog horns and deafening silencers and when they move through a crowded place they began to horn unnecessarily and show cast their mad trends. I think that the trend has emerged due to the over exposure of media and the youth needs a proper counseling from their parents and teachers" Ali Mohammad Shah a retired government teacher told Early Times. |
