Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 12: The Capital City today remained a hub of hot political activities as crucial election to fill up two seats of the Rajya Sabha is being held tomorrow. National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and his senior party colleague Mohammad Shafi are among four candidates in the fray. Other two candidates are Syed Altaf Hussain Bukhari of the Peoples Democratic Party and Advocate Ashok Vijay Gupta of the Bhartiya Janta Party. Ahead of the elections a meeting of the coalition legislators was held over dinner at a hotel here this evening which was also attended by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Congress leaders Saifuddin Soz and Ghulam Nabi Azad. Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: Following litigation of a Nepali national challenging termination of his services, the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, popularly known as Cultural Academy, has sought intervention of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to decide fate of 38 employees recruited in violation of rules. The Cultural Academy has been facing criticism and also a case in the State Accountability Commission for 38 appointments made in violation of rules during the years 2006 and 2007. Early Times Report Doda/Jammu, Feb 12: On sixth day of the blockade of National Highway 1B, scarcity of essential commodities has hit the twin mountainous districts of Doda and Kishtwar and prices have escalated even as the Government started airlifting essentials to the cut off districts. Main commodities which at present were out of stock include LPG, petroleum products, vegetables, flour and medicines. People are buying goods at higher rates. Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 12: The Rajwansheer Railway Station in Budgam has been renamed as Mazhom Railway Station after the name of the village of its location. The Chief Minister had taken up the matter with the Central Government saying that there was no village in Kashmir with the name of Rajwansheer. He had requested the Centre to rename the Railway Station as Mazhom Railway Station as it is located in the village of the same name. AGENCIES Islamabad: In a much-awaited reply to the Mumbai attacks dossier, Pakistan on Thursday admitted that ‘some part’ of the 26/11 conspiracy was in fact plotted in Pakistan. Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik on Thursday told reporters that his government has acted on information given by the Indian government. “Ajmal Kasab and nine others have been named in the FIR, out of whom six have been arrested,” Malik informed. “Some part of the conspiracy was plotted in Pakistan but a major part was shaped in India.
