Jammu, March 13: The Bhartiya Janta Party Parliamentary Board is meeting in New Delhi tomorrow to finalise its nominees for the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Parliamentary Board meeting to be attended by senior leader LK Advani and BJP president Rajnath Singh is being held in afternoon and names are likely to be announced by evening, sources said. Four senior party leaders from Jammu and Kashmir –state president Ashok Khajuria, Legislature Party leader Chaman Lal Gupta, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Ajay Singh Jamwal have rushed to New Delhi to attend the meeting.
BJP organizing secretary for North India, Manohar Lal told Early Times over phone from New Delhi that the Parliamentary Board is all set to finalise the nominees for Jammu and Kashmir by Saturday evening.

New Delhi | Mar 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Arun Jaitley skipped the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting to select candidates for elections in Bihar, setting off rumours that he is unhappy with the party’s campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections.
Jaitley is reportedly miffed at Party President Rajnath Singh over the appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal, a businessman known for his high connections, as co-convener of North-East Affairs and is said to have registered his protest on the issue to the party leadership.

Srinagar, Mar 13: At least 12 persons including five security personnel were injured when clashes broke out between police and protesters, demanding action against security personnel involved in the killing of a youth last week, after Friday prayers in the Jamia Masjid area in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
Police fired dozens of teargas shells and used batons to disperse the protesters who took to streets chanting pro-freedom slogans and pelted stones and petrol bombs on police and paramilitary forces at Nowhatta chowk.

Jammu, March 3: As thousands of youths have responded to the Police invitation for recruitment of Sub Inspectors in various wings, those who had applied in 2003 and 2007 but went unexamined have moved the High Court seeking inclusion of their candidature in basis of previous applications.
Earlier applicants of Sub Inspector posts in 2003 and 2007 moved a petition in the High Court which in turn gave instructions to the authorities to entertain the fresh forms of those aspirants who have earlier applied and are now non eligible for the posts as they have crossed the age limit prescribed.

it to proceed fast in prosecuting those behind the 26/11 carnage on the basis of the 'very comprehensive' and 'solid' material.
The 400-page dossier, containing replies to Pakistan's questions, was handed over by foreign secretary Shivshankar Menon to Pakistan's High Commissioner Shahid Malik, a month after Islamabad posed the queries.

Talking to reporters at Hazratbal shrine, Farooq Abdullah alleged that there were large scale discrepancies in the Waqaf board when Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was at the helm of affairs in the state.

New Delhi, March 13: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari reportedly has now only 24 hours to accept the compromise formula prepared by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on ending the political deadlock. According to Pakistani media, the US-backed deal instructs Zardari to leave the post if he fails to give consent to the deal aimed at calming political chaos in Pakistan.
