SRINAGAR, Sep 18: Taking serious cognizance of the matter of changing the weapon of assault during investigation of the murder of former MLC Depinder Kour’s son, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today ordered suspension of three Police officers, including SSP Jammu Manohar Singh, for “dereliction of duty” even as IGP Jammu subsequently placed three more Police officials of Gandhi Nagar Police Station under suspension. Government has, meanwhile, issued orders of a major reshuffle in Police---involving 5 IGs and 3 DIGs---that had been decided here on Saturday last in advance of acquiring the services of a security expert as Director of Special Services Group (SSG). Highly placed official sources told Early Times that the Cabinet had accorded sanction to transfer and posting of 5 IGs and 3 DIGs in a meeting on the sidelines of the District Development Board meetings of Baramulla, Bandipore and Ganderbal at SKICC here on September 12th. Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 19: In little over a year after reviving its landing facility at Daulat-Beg-Oldie (highest airfield in the world) the Indian Air Force (IAF) Friday opened a landing ground in the cold desert area of Ladakh near the China border to fixed wing aircraft, and the first plane to land was an AN-32 carrying two senior IAF and army officers. The Nyoma Advanced Landing Ground in Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir was until now being used only by helicopters. Nyoma is 23 km from the border. At 6.25 a.m., Group Captain S.C. Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 18 : Security forces recovered a haul of arms and ammunition, including Chinese grenades, in twin districts of Jammu region, police sources here today said. ‘’Based on specific information, security forces launched a search last night in Adhang forest area of Reasi district and recovered a cache,’’ sources told UNI adding that the recovery included 230 AK rounds, 2 RPG assembly, one shell with booster, two detonator, three magazines and 230 rounds, five Chinese grenades, six UBGL grenades, one radio set antenna and other miscellaneous items. Agencies New Delhi: Condemning Shashi Tharoor’s ‘cattle class’ remarks, the Congress said on Friday it would take ‘appropriate action at appropriate time’ against the MOS for External Affairs. Agencies New Delhi: Amid border tension following firing from the Pakistani side, a flag meeting was held Friday between the border guarding forces of the two countries to review the situation. Officials of BSF and Pakistan Rangers held the flag meeting at Nikwol border outpost in Jammu and Kashmir's Khour belt to discuss the firing incidents last night and this morning.
