Washing away of vented cause-way delinks Bishnah villages

Jammu, Sept 11: Prominent Congress men, sarpanchs, panchs, numberdars, chowkidars besides other people from various villages including Rehal, Taraf Brahamana , Krail Manhasan and Chak Hassal etc was held a meet at Rehal under the chairmanship of capt Harshvardhan Sharma BCC president Bishnah to take stock of the situation arisen due to the washing away of vented cause-way, the main link between the various villages of this area and Rehal town and the other numerous difficulties being faced by the people of this whole area.
The meeting was especially attended by Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister.
Speaking on the occasion various prominent persons highlighted the issues that included that the vented cause-way constructed by the Department in the year 2006 has been washed-away and even after giving several representations to the concerned department no work has been taken up on the said vented cause-way so far, the reasons well known to the department. The dilapidated conditions of link roads, lanes and drains were included besides the reference on the acute problem of electricity due to the non availability of electric poles and worst condition of old rotted wires and transformers which need to be replaced immediately. People also lodged strong protest against the approved BPL list where the most deserving people have been left out. The speakers highlighted the issue of crop of paddy damaged badly due to some disease and demanded that team of officers of the Agriculture department should be constituted to assess the loss and the farmers be given proper relief.
While speaking on the occasion Gulchain Singh Charak, disclosed that he has already taken up the issue of damaged vented Cause-way and dilapidated conditions of roads, lanes and drains with the concerned department and assured that the necessary steps will be taken in this regard to expedite the process of construction of this important bridge and he assured that the matter regarding construction of college building for degree college at Bishnah will be taken up with the concerned minister at the earliest.
He also assured the gathering that he will soon visit Srinagar to take up all the issues with the Govt there.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Capt Harshvardhan Sharma, Madan Lal Bhagat, K C Dogra, Wakil Chand Sharma, Tirath Ram Sharma (chairman), Girdhari Lal (sarpanch), Ashok Gupta & P C Sharma.
