| Students, faculty rue depilated condition of PWD Colony School | | | early times report Kathua, Sept11: Both the students and the faculty at Govt Girls Primary School PWD Colony near Shaheedhi Chowk Kathua are fraught over not only the dilapidated condition of school due to negligence of the education department but also by the unhygienic conditions around the school courtesy a local restaurant. Raising the issue the school teachers namely Jyoti Rajput, Tamna Gupta and Amita Sharma lamented that an outlet of waste water from a local restaurant opens up in school premises which emit foul smell besides an unreceptive scene because of empty wine and beer bottles seen on the roof top of the school. The faculty also decried that during rainy seasons the drain overflows in school premises giving an unfriendly look to the school as water gets inundated in the front of class rooms and office. The horrid experiences don't end here as a bank besides school has installed a generator which not only creates noise pollution but also becomes a source of distraction of academics. Here it needs to mention that said school already has been facing the threat of collapse of building because of its dilapidated condition since long as concerned authorities have not taken any preventive steps to undertake due repairs. Locals especially whose wards have been enrolled in this school are worried about the security of their wards and told that these issues time and again have been bought to notice of the higher authorities but things remain as usual and nothing positive was done in this regard. |
