Jammu, Sept 11: Hunger Strike-Fast Unto Death led by President Gujjar Bakerwal Students Welfare Association (GBSWA) Talib Hussain entered second consecutive day today at Jammu University. Talib Hussain said vice-chancellor, Prof M.P Singh Isher met with them on their hunger strike place at entrance gate of Jammu University and they talked over the long pending issue of Gojri Research Centre in Jammu University, which got approval in the year 2008 in university council meet. He further informed that Vice-chancellor said JU has no funds to set up this Gojri Research Centre" On second time, when GBSWA met with them, he assured to set up the research centre in Kishtwar, and further in Bhadarwah. The VC today also said, "We require not only infrastructure of Gojri Research Centre, but also we have to create a post of a professor which need more than Rs 15 lakhs a year. Talib further added that the university authority has built a new Vice-Chancellor Secretariat and a special parking for his own vehicles. From where he got these funds, as this issue is long pending and above all, it is an issue of art, culture, language, civilization and ethnicity of third largest community of J&K state. |
