| Panun Kashmir to observe Martyrs Day on Sept 14 | | | Et Report
Jammu, Sept 11: The Panun Kashmir is organizing a seminar on the topic " Battle of Survival against Growing Fundamentalism in J & K" at Jammu Club on Sept 14 to observe 24th Martyrs Day. Prominent socio-political experts will speak and pay homage to martyrs from the community and the security forces who have laid down their lives to safeguard territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Indian nation. Kuldeep Raina while addressing the activists of Panun Kashmir today informed this and added besides paying rich tributes to martyrs who laid down lives during Kashmir turmoil the tributes were also paid to those killed in recent Kishtwar violence.While explaining the observance of the Martyrs Day for the persecuted Kashmiri Pandit Community, Raina said," Martyrs' Day for the exiled Kashmiri Pandit community is a moment for introspection and reiteration to recover the lost homeland.'"Since 1990 the displaced community has been observing this day to pay homage to its members ,who fell victims to the 'ethnic cleansing' campaign launched by the fundamentalist forces in Kashmir, speakers said further adding, "the rise of Islamist terrorism in the valley and the consequent ethnic cleansing of valley Hindus/Pandits are the outcomes of a particular politics pursued over the years." |
