| JU holds Academic Council Meet | | | early times report Jammu, Sept 11: Academic Council of University of Jammu today resolved to start Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA), five yearintegrated M.Sc programme in Statistics (after 10+2) and introduction of P.G Diploma in Bioinformatics after Post Graduation (one Year) under Innovative Programme of the UGC at the School of Biotechnology from the next Academic session 2014-15. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Academic Council, University of Jammu, held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar. In his opening remarks, Prof. Ishar exhorted the teaching fraternity to give their best in producing talented students and scholars for the betterment of society. Prof Manoj K. Dhar, Registrar, University of Jammu welcomed the members of Academic Council and sought their whole hearted cooperation in not only maintaining the academic standards but also raising them further. During the meeting, 27 items were discussed along with the action taken on the resolutions of the last Academic Council held in March this year. It was also resolved that Environment Science part II compulsory paper examination will be held on the objective type basis from the coming academic session. The guidelines for conducting written examination for persons with disability as received from Deputy Secretary, Board of Governors in super-session of Medical Council of India was endorsed. It was also resolved to give supplementary chance to students of LLB five year Course in 9th and 10th Semester examinations. Resolved to give recognition to courses being offered by MANNU through its study Centres in J&K on the basis of the guidelines laid by the Jammu University. |
