Jammu, Sept 13: Hindi Divas commemorates the historic occasion when Hindi was adopted as the official language of India on September 14, 1949. The day was celebrated at KC Public School today 13 in the form of a short cultural programme prepared by the students of the senior school and presented before an audience of parents and students. The chief guest on the occasion was Manisha Sharma, Hindi Officer at Radio Kashmir, Jammu. The programme started with a speech highlighting the importance of Hindi in the country. It was followed by musical rendition of dohas and bhajans of Kabir, Surdas and Meera Bai to highlight the contribution of eminent poets of the Bhakati Kaal towards the development and advancement of Hindi literature. The next item was group recitation of two inspirational Hindi poems which were presented with great finesse and style by a large group of boys and girls. The programme concluded with a graceful Kathak dance performance by senior girls on Meera Bai's 'Tum bin moro kaun khabar le". |
