BJP fully backs exiled KPs demands, assures to raise issue in Parliament | Razdhan bags Sharda Puraskar | | Et Report JAMMU, Sept 13: BJP MP and incharge J&K Avinash Roy Khanna today assured full support to exiled Kashmir Pandits in their struggle. Addressing a function organized by Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra at Anand Nagar Bohri near here today, organised in connection with celebration of Ganga Ashtami also commonly known as Sharda Ashtami, Mr Khanna said that BJP has already taken up the issue of refuges from West Pakistan, PoK and Kashmiri migrants in the Parliament and the Party has pressurized the Union Government to settle their demands.Khanna said BJP is fully at the back of the displaced Pandits from the Valley and it will leave no stone unturned for their honorable and dignified return of the community to their homes and hearths in Valley. Terming the migration of Kashmir Pandits unfortunate, he held the then Union and State Governments responsible for the mass exodus of minorities from the Valley.He accused the Government of taking no concrete steps in settling the demands of the displaced people from Valley including their honorable rehabilitation in Kashmir. He said had the Government taken concrete steps for the rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley, their problems would have eased to a great extent. He also expressed concern over the condition of Hindu religious places in valley and demanded that their land which has been encroached upon by the mafia gangs be restored immediately. He also assured full support to displaced Pandits in their struggle in this regard. He also highlighted the role of Kashmiri Hindus in promoting the ethos of Indian culture.The function among others was addressed by BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma , Party general secretary Bali Bhagat, Yudhvir Sethi and others. Swami Ekarthanad Ji Maharaj of Swami Ramakrishana Ashram Mission was guest of honour. He recalled how Swami Vivekananda became enraptured by the beauty of Kashmir and its spiritual glory. The function was presided over by Dr R L Shant. On the occasion A K Razdan a noted writer and Sahitya Academy award winner was presented with Sharda Puraskar. Prof T N Shalla senior trustee read the welcome address. On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also performed. The hawans tarted last night and culminated with puranahuti this afternoon which was followed by serving of prashad to devotees. |
