JAMMU, Sept 13: District Udhampur girls excelled with twin titles of under-17 and under-19 categories while district Reasi bagged under-14 trophy in the two-day inter-district divisional level kho-kho competition, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel Nagrota, near here today.
In under-14 category, district Reasi trounced host Jammu district by a narrow margin of two points. Visiting Reasi girls were better in stamina and endurance thus emerged winner.
The under-17 title went to district Udhampur, who beat Jammu girls by one (5-4) point. Earlier, in the under-17 semifinals, Jammu beat Reasi 4-3 while Udhampur outplayed district Rajouri 5-2.
The under-19 girls' trophy again clinched by district Udhampur, who defeated district Reasi 5-4 in the title clash today. In the semifinal, played today, Reasi blanked district Samba 7-0 while Udhampur trounced Jammu 5-3.
In the valedictory function, Deputy Director, DYSS, Ved Parkash Sharma was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. |
