Jammu, Sept 13: A shining star of Jammu's own world of art is all set to shine on the dazzling landscape of Bollywood in the coming months.
Popularly known as 'Artist Amar', a reputed art director working for past several years here in the city of temples has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood.
Amarjeet Singh is featuring in the movie "Ek Sarkari Joota" being directed by Rahat Kazmi to be released in the month of April next year. Besides being the Art Director of the movie, he will be seen in a shot role in the movie. His journey as Art Director to Bollywood has another upcoming project of Rahat Kazmi, Hindi feature film "Shakar-Masala", the project will start in the month of November 2013.
What persuaded him towards art direction he says that art direction comes to him by birth. "I always had a passion towards designing sets right from my childhood when I used to build castles with match boxes." He never knew his art freak would turn him to take his passion as his career in graduation in Fine Arts from IMFA, University of Jammu and Masters in Fine Arts in Applied Art from GCA, Punjab University Chandigarh. "It was the inner zeal that led me to choose art as my career and prove my worth in the field of media practically" he added.
Besides carving his mark as Art Director in Jammu Sliver Screen with "Reet" Dogri Feature Film which found its entry into 60th National Film Award in regional category 2012 and was selected for Ladakh International Film Festival 2013, "Ruh-E-Tasawuf" produced by Ratankar Media Arts for DD National (Urdu) 2013, Tele serial "Bagh-O-Bahaar" a fiction of classic genre, produced by Umer Imtiyaz under the banner of Media Arts and Directed by Jaidev Chakarboty for DD National (Urdu) 2013, he has into his credit the field exposure of art directing carnivals like Bhaderwah Festival 2012.
Amarjeet is also associated with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art Culture and Heritage) as a resource person for creative art where he is training more than 2000 students of 50 different schools of Jammu and Kashmir State. Amarjeet has provided successful art direction to many serials like Sa Re Ga Ma, Seedhi Baat Meri Koshish Mera Vishwaas , Kunju Chanchalo, Amanat, Bete Ki Chah, Bakhre Bakhre Sach, Star Baal Kalakar, Lambi Duwari, Ae Watan Tere Liye, Dhanak, Dogri K Lok Hasya Vyang, and projects of various Television Channels of India like DD National, DD Urdu, DD Kashir, DD Jammu, Zee Kashmir and Take One T.V Channel Jammu.
This is surely the time when Jammu, known for its talent nurturing is all set to showcase its artists at the national and international platforms. On being asked for the mantra for his success, "My struggle has become my strength to reach up to this mark and adore every bit of it. It's your passion for your work that brings success close to you" he replied.
