early times report Jammu, Sept 13: To aware children about road safety in general and the precautions they should take to avoid any mishaps, Humming Buds, a pre-school of MIER, celebrated Road Safety Day at the BC Road and Residency Road branches. The aim was to sensitize the children regarding their own safety from young age so they can grow into responsible pedestrians and drivers in the future. Traffic Policemen were specially invited on the occasion and an interactive session was conducted with the kids. They were introduced to the traffic rules such as wearing a helmet while riding on a bike, wearing a seat belt in a car, driving within speed limits, no talking on the phone while driving etc. through charts and photographs. The session created excitement in the class. A traffic light model was also put up to explain the three colours signifying stop, look and go. A fun game based on thematic and play way methodology was organized in which children enjoyed walking on the zebra crossing and kids dressed in red, yellow and green t-shirts acted as the traffic light. Project Director Humming Buds Ruchika Gupta thanked the Traffic department for lending their support. |
