| Police exhumes body of woman who died mysteriously | | | Et Report
Rajouri, Sept 13: Following the directions from District Magistrate (DM) Rajouri police exhumed the body of a young house wife who died under mysterious circumstances and her parents also had alleged harassment for dowry by the in-laws which perhaps have led her death intervening night of September2/3. Police today exhumed the body of a woman in Budhal Rajouri for which district magistrate had accorded the permission following a complaint filed by the parents of deceased against her in-laws about dowry harassment. Pertinently one Rukhsana Kouser w/o Abdul Shakoor died during the intervening night of September 2/3 at her in-laws house at village Lal Bani (Samote) under suspicious circumstances. After she (victim) was buried on Sept 3 by the in-laws without proper intimation to them, deceased father Abdul Qayoom later approached the Budhal Station House Officer (SHO) Rakesh Kumar and lodged a complaint alleging foul play behind the death of her daughter.Police started inquest proceeding under section 174CrPC and forwarded the report to senior police officer. On Sept11, the police during the investigation of case approached District Magistrate (DM) Rajouri, FC Bhagat to seek his permission for the exhumation of the body for further investigation.After DM permission and in the presence of Magistrate Hakim Shah, Naib Tehsildar of area the body was exhumed today evening and a team of four doctors from District Hospital Rajouri headed by senior consultant Dr Abdul Salam performed the postmortem. The body was buried after legal formalities and postmortem. SHO , Budhal said that after the result of medical report are awaited and then police will go ahead with investigation . |
