Kishtwar, Sept 13: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, 8 RR located at Jangalwar dedicated a science laboratory to the children and staff of Higher Secondary School, Binoon in a plain but impressive ceremony held at remote Binoon village in Bonjwah region of Kishtwar District. The Army has launched a well thought out programme toward promoting education and helping the poor students of far-flung areas of Kishtwar District in Keshwan, Saroor and Bonjwah areas. During previous winters Army had conducted coaching classes for students of these region in English, Maths and Science. This initiative by Army was very well appreciated by the local population and children were immensely benefitted. Commander of the Rashtriya Rifles Sector at Kishtwar inaugurated the laboratory, while speaking to the children, he emphasized upon the importance of education in today's world. He also mentioned that similar projects to improve the quality of education will also be undertaken in other parts of district. Another project for a science laboratory is going to be dedicated to Higher Secondary School, Sirodh in a very near future. He also informed the children about recent admission of children in Pacific University, Udaipur. More than 100 students were sent to the University for technical and higher studies. The ceremony was attended by a large number of villagers, teachers, parents of students and sarpanchs, who were highly appreciative of the Army's efforts and requested the Army officials to undertake such projects on regular basis. |
