Jammu, Sept 30: Police today claimed to have busted a counterfeit currency racket with the arrest of three persons and recovery of counterfeit currency from their possession during a naka in the area falling under jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli Police, police said. The accused have been namely identified as Harmeet Singh alias Sunny S/O Avtar Singh R/O Gadigarh, Manjit Singh alias Monty S/O Gurcharan Singh and Sanjay Kumar S/O Badrinath both R/O Nanak Nagar.
According to police, "On a specific information, Jhajjarkotli police laid a naka last night and intercepted three above mentioned fake currency racketeers. During their personal frisking police team recovered fake currency notes amounting Rs. 3300/- from their possession, police said.
Police said that all the three accused are in police custody and further investigation is going on to ascertain the involvement of more person involved in the racket, their modus operandi, area of activation etc. A case FIR No.132/13 registered under relevant section of law, police further said. |
