EJAC calls for 5-day state wide strike starting today
Employees of Rajouri chose to stay away

Rajouri, Sept 30: Government employees in Rajouri district have decided to stay away from 5 days strike call given by Employees Joint Action Committee(EJAC) headed by AQ Wani starting from Tuesday.
This was disclosed by Shahbaz Khan, chairman regional employees forum (REF) at Rajouri today. He added that in this connection a meeting of heads of all the employees unions of Rajouri district was held today and employees of Rajouri district have been warned that they will join the strike at their own risks and unions will not help them in any crises.
He added that medical employees front (MEF) headed by Farooq Mirza, Pharmacist association headed by Majid Wani,JK Ladakh teachers federation headed by Rajinder Kumar and others have also decided not to join the strike.
Shabaz Khan said that they will only join the strike when they are directed by State Employees Joint Action Committee based at Jammu.
The government employees under the leadership of AQ Wani have decided to go on 5 days strike beginning from Tuesday in favor of their long pending demands and have accused the government for adopting delaying tactics despite an agreement reached between them and the government in the month of September,2011 and again in July,2012.
Meanwhile government has warned the employees of tough actions including enforcement of 'no work, no pay' and treating the period of unauthorized absence as dies-non/break in service and may even entail dismissal from service.
FC Bhagat , DDC Rajouri convened the meeting of district officers in the evening today and informed and distributed among them the directions issued by the government to deal with the strike of employees.
"To implement the orders of the government block , tehsil and district levels committees have been constituted to monitor the attendance of the employees which will be headed by respective tehsildars and assisted by BDOs and SHOs" said DDC , FC Bhagat.
