| Search operations launched at Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony, Durga Nagar | | Panic entails Samba militant attack | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 30: it was apparently a hectic day for the security forces as a series of search operations were launched following reports of the 'suspects' seen in different areas of in outskirts of winter capital of state. The searches were carried out in Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony and some areas of Raika Rakh of Jammu, police sources said. Police said that following reports of some suspects seen in 'general area of forests in Rakia Rakh and its adjoining areas and acting promptly the police alongwith other paramilitary forces launched search operations in localities. The police conducted search operations in some areas of Raika Rakh, Sunjwan, Greater Kailash and adjoining forests of Purmandal areas. However the main joint search operation was conducted at Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony and other adjoining areas by police and Paramilitary forces following the reports that some suspects with arms were spotted. "One watchman engaged with private flats at Greater Kailash informed police that some youth aimed their gun upon him during the intervening night of September 29/30, sources said. Based on the complaint, a police team was dispatched to the area and accordingly a thorough search operation at Greater Kailash and Sainik Colony was launched, but in a day long operation police got nothing. Sources said that further questioning of the watchman was in progress, till last reports came in. Responding to yet another distress call from the residents of sector 1 Durga Nagar, a police team of PP Chinore launched a search operation in the area. The residents had complained of suspicious movement in tall weeds in the open plots following which police team searched the area but did not find anything. |
