early times report Srinagar, Sept 30 : Though Six day long keran encounter concluded but it turned inconclusively as bodies eliminated militants dumped on Line of Control (LoC) in Keran Sector in North Kashmir, reportedly have been taken back by intruders from Pakistani side, sources said. They added atleast 15 militants were killed in an insurgency operation after Army claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bid on September 24. 'The operation, which according to sources, ended on Sunday last evening left 4 soldiers injured. Official sources told GNS that during six day long operation, no body was retrieved due to heavy firing between the ultras and army and also due to dense foggy and hostile weather conditions. Sources said the bodies of eliminated 15 ultreas in this operation were reportedly taken back by heavily armed group of militants who had sneaked deep into Indian side. Security agencies have expressed concerns over failure of Indian side to recover the bodies of militants. "The fingers are being raised over failure of concerned Army unit for not being able to retrieve a single militant body," sources told GNS. They said after an hour-long fresh firing in Keran Sector, the militants managed to escape injuring four troopers of 3/3-GR, putting an end to 6-day-long fierce encounter and injuring soldiers identified as Hav T.B. Roka, Youg Bahadur,Tejinder KC and Tula Ram. On September 28, sources claimed three observation pickets in Shalbhutu near LoC in Keran sector have been occupied by militants. However, senior Army official had declined to comment on the militants' occupying of three observation pickets in Keran Sector. |
