| EDB opens branch in village Sundrani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Sept 30 : District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal inaugurated an Ellaquai Dehati Bank(EDB) branch at Village Sundrani of district Udhampur in simple but an impressive function organized here on Monday.
Speaking on the inaugural function, the DDC congratulated the villagers to have a bank services at their door step.
The DDC complemented the functionaries of Ellaquai Dehati Bank for its role in reaching to the financially weaker sections in the rural areas which would cover almost 15 unbanked panchayats of the area. For purpose of connecting maximum people with the bank, she asked for holding awareness camps with the cooperation of line departments for implementation of the poverty elevating schemes in the area. Yasha called upon the villagers to come forward and avail the maximum benefits of schemes of bank especially designed for the upliftment of the people living in the rural areas and especially for traders and farmer. She also asked the chairman of the bank for the inclusion of Cooperate Society Responsibility initiatives through the bank for the welfare of the people. The chairman of bank A K Razdan highlighted the aim and objectives of the banks and said that opening the branch at this remotest area is to reach out to the rural masses and bring the unbanked into financial inclusion.
Besides the loan products, the bank has a number of deposit products designed for meeting out the investment needs of its customers, he added. |
