| Employees term transfer of semi-skilled workers illegal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Sept 30 : The workers of Jackson Private Ltd. an Industry in Kathua industrial area have lamented the high handed ness of the employers saying that they are using unfair means to snub down the workers right by using government and administrative machinery against them. The workers were protesting against the Jackson Private Ltd company here today. The protest was led by CITU and alleged the Jackson Private Ltd. for violating the workers rights and labour act through its oppressive and unconstitutional means. The protestors demanded the cancellations of transfer order of their five workers warning that the protest will be continued till the demand are not addressed. The leader Raj Kumar has urged the administration to assess the share of local employment in this factory, a fair and rational physical verification must be conducted and also conduct the enquiry on threatening statements of industrial management which has hurt the dignity and respect of the administration and government. He said the Jackson Industry has adopted undemocratic means to expel its workers on the name of transfer from Kathua unit to Noida based unit. He said as per the labour act it is not legal to transfer the unskilled workers out of the 30 Kilometer then how it is possible to transfer the semiskilled workers at Noida unit of Jackson Industry. He termed it as an illusion and said that behind the strategy of the Industry is to expel the local workers to provide the employment to outsiders. Balbir Singh a spokesperson of Jackson Industry has termed the allegations which are being leveled by workers as false and baseless and creating the confusion among the administration. |
