Jammu, Sept 30: "Clean Up Jammu" sanitation drive today reached to outer skirts of Jammu Municipality i.e. 40, 41 & 61 covering mohallas and business centre's located in these wards. According to official spokesperson of JMC, the team, of JMC officials led by Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in a bid to improve the civic amenities available to the Citizens of the Jammu City and to reach out to their doorsteps for addressing the problems being faced visited above mentioned wards. The statement said, "The inspection of the localities namely Jawahar Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Basant Vihar, Bharat Nagar, Durga Nagar, Kabir Colony, Priya Darshani Lane, SHanker Vihar, Vijay Nagar, Wazir Lane, Friends Colony, Dutta Colony, Priyadarshani Lane, Anand Vihar, Hazoori Bagh, Colonnel Colony, Anand Nagar, Manorma Vihar, Gopi Nath Vihar, Udhaywala road, Surya Vihar, Om Nagar area was conducted to assess the sanitary conditions and performance of other Municipal services." "Joint Commissioner(W), Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Executive Engineers, Compost-cum-Transport Officer, Chief Khilafwarzi Officers accompanied the Commissioner JMC who instructed on spot directions regarding Sanitation of wards, lifting of stray animals , Removal of garbage along roads side, maintenance of street lights, repair and remodeling of drains/lanes.' These issues were discussed in threadbare and informal environment inviting suggestions from the participants for improving the delivery of Municipal Services to the common masses. The Municipal Commissioner asked all the residents, shopkeepers/vendors and other concerned to pay user charges to the Corporation that will help in door to door collection of garbage from households and business establishments resolving the sanitation problem in the areas. |
