Sports Reporter JAMMU, Sept 30: Host Unique Public School boys and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Gandhi Nagar girls emerged winners in the Jammu District Kabaddi Championship, organised by the Jammu District Amateur Kabaddi Association at Gadi Garh, here. In the boys' final, Unique Public defeated Shiv Public School by a big margin of 20 points. Earlier, in the semifinals, Unique Public outplayed Vishwa Bharti School by 25 points while Shiv Pubic trounced Panchayat Halqa Bishnah by a narrow margin of two points. Similarly, in girls' title clash, KV Gandhi Nagar defeated Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Nawabad by 25 points. Semifinals: KV Gandhi Nagar bt Lord Shiva HSS by 30 points; GHSS Nawabad bt GHSS R S Pura by 20 points. In the finals and prize distribution function, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla was chief guest while president of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Anil Gupta presided. Chief Education Officer, Tarsem Lal, member State Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra and general secretary of Kabaddi Association, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta were guests of honour. Matches were officiated by the technical penal including Ajay Gutpa, Anil Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Vishal Jamwal, Sanjeet Kumar, Mohan Lal, Amrik Singh, Harbans Singh, Arvinder Singh, S. Ravinder Bali Harpreet Singh, Mohd. Saleem, Sunny, Keshav, Tarandeep Singh, Bandna Sharma, Poonam Jamwal, Anuradha Bhagat, Nitish Bakshi and Mamta Devi. |
