| Nayeem gets emotional, gets his will registered in Council | | 'If I die, don't move any obituary references, condolence resolutions' | | early times report Srinagar, Sept 30: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLC Naeem Akhter on Monday expressed serious concern over what he called unabated killings of innocents taking place in Jammu and Kashmir. Participating in obituary references made in Legislative Council on the inaugural day of its seven-days autumn session today, Akhter sought time for a brief intervention which was granted to him. In his brief address, the PDP MLC said that it is very unfortunate that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing unabated killings of innocent people. "Given these innocent killings, I think a general state of mourning should be declared on the pattern of state of emergency," he observed. Giving vent to his emotions, Akhter said that he wants to register his will which should be recorded in the Council. "When I die and if the state continues to be witnessing the same bloodshed and the youth continued to be victimized and this august House continued to be under arrest as the government is putting people under the House arrest, there should be no obituary reference made in my name nor should be any condolence resolutions passed in this august House. It is irrespective of whether my party will be in the government or on the opposition benches at that time." |
