Kathua, Oct 10: As a part of Gandhi Jayanti Celebration Week, NSS Units of Government Degree College, Kathua today organized a symposium on the topic 'Gandhi Ji: Apostle of Truth and Non-Violence'. Sixteen volunteers participated in the symposium and spoke at lengthen the topic. They threw light on the ideals of Gandhi regarding truth and non-violence and it was highlighted that for the progress and welfare of nation, the violence of any kind shall be curved with iron hand. About 200 NSS volunteers attended the symposium. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the worthy Chief Guest, Dr. Nater Singh, Principal, Government Degree College, Kathua. In his address, Dr. Nater Singh Raina, Principal Govt. Degree College, Kathua appreciated the NSS Volunteers and Programme officers for organizing the symposium on a relevant topic which has great resemblance in the present scenario in the country. He impressed upon the volunteers to spread the message of truth and non violence to their respective areas and also imbibe these ideals in their routine life. The first position was scored by Vishal Pathania and second postion occupied by Himani Singh while Priksha Shrama stood on third position. |
