| As completion of term near, Soz wakes up to rampant corruption in J&K | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 10: Expressing serious concern over what he called rampant "corruption and malpractices" that have damaged the institutions of governance in Jammu and Kashmir, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief today said he is hurt seeing the anger and frustration of youth in the State. Prof Soz who is also head of coordination committee of the coalition Government said, to him the reason of anger and frustration among youth of the State is because the Government departments do not function as is desired from them. "The work in Government departments is not being carried out in a normal course of action. People are compelled to pay bribes to get their work done," Prof Soz remarked. He said the level of corruption in Government departments is high and this why the people have not options but to approach the Courts to get their grievances redressed. "This is why you see there is a lot of intervention from the judiciary because the departments don't work unless the Court reprimands them," the PCC Chief added. |
