| vMBS College students continue their protest on fifth day | | | ET Report
Jammu, Oct 10: Students of MBS College continued to their protest against the college management and staged a demonstration cum protest rally at Satwari Chowk where they obstruct the traffic for hours on ever busy Jammu Pathankot National Highway. After boycotting their classes the students marched in form of rally shouting slogans in support of their one of faculty member "HOD Ko Wapis Lao, Wapis Lao", "We Want Justice" and etc and staged protest after reaching at National Highway. Addressing the media persons Lucky Singh president Students Union of college alleged that the college administration is now using the pressure tactics and is threatening the students to face severe results if they don't stop agitation. He cautioned administration against using pressure tactics and suggested to concede to their demands. Here it needs to mention that students of MBS College are protests for last five days to the mismanagement of college and are demanding to restore services of one A K Kawan HOD Mechanical Department. Additional DC Jammu Rehana Battul accompanied with Naib Tehsildar Jammu visited the spot and pacified the protesting students and to get traffic restored on national highway. However students have warned if further their demands are not met they will be left no option but to further intensify their agitation Paramveer singh, Amrik Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Harjot Singh, Ravneet Singh, Arshdeep Kour, Harneet Kour, Gurpreet Kour, Harjeet Kour, Sonu Kumari, Meenakshi Sharma, Rakhi Kumari and many others participated in this protest. Meanwhile expressing concerns over the issue president of "Jammu Pvt. Schools & ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) have demanded state government and Jammu University must take intervene contingence of the ongoing unrest among the mbs engineering college students. While commenting on the ongoing unrest among the MBS engineering college students, Deep Singh the president of "Jammu Pvt. Schools & ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) criticized the silent approach of the state government and the Jammu University authorities over the issue. While appealing the higher education minister of the state and other concerned authorities, Deep Singh stressed for an intervention without delay for addressing the genuine demand of engineering students. |
