| Minority community continues protest as talks with officials remain inconclusive | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Oct 10: The shops/business establishments belong to minority community remained closed on the 6th consecutive day as mark of protest against alleged biased attitude of the district administration including police for lodging a murder case against some youth of their community in a physical scuffle between two groups of youth from both the communities on October, 4. On Wednesday Shantmanu , Divisional Commissioner and Rajesh Kumar, IGP Jammu during their visit to Rajouri met with the representatives from both the communities for about 7 hours in PWD dak bunglow. Representative of minority community have alleged that the talk with both the officers remain inconclusive as they didn't get any positive response from them. The representatives from majority community showed their satisfaction over the action taken by the police and said that the dispute was between RSS activists and two Muslim families and their community has no role in the dispute. Minority community have been demanding strongly that the FIR against their about 11 youths, including district president and vice president of BJYM, must be withdrawn and those who had first attacked the RSS activists while organizing their routine 'Shakha' on October,4 must be booked. RSS, BJP, VHP and Bajarang Dal units of Rajouri have leveled allegations on some members of Muslim families that they had disturbed the routine "shakha' function on October,4 which lead two physical clash between tow groups from both the communities. In the clash two Muslim brothers were injured and after their complaint police registered a case in murder attempt (307RPC) against the youth of minority community and three were arrested, including that of president and vice president of BJYM. Sensing trouble district administration had imposed section 144CrPC on October,5 which is still in force. After getting no response from the Divisional Commissioner and IGP they have decided to continue their ensuing bandh call till their demands are not met. At the time of filing this report the meeting of the Minority community members was in progress inside Sanatan Dharam Sabha to chalk out their further course of action. Meanwhile Jugal Kishore Sharma , BJP state president has decided to organize 'Rajouri chalo' to extend their support with the ensuing agitation by the members of minority community again alleged harrasment in the hands of district administration/police over a issue of clash between groups of two communities. He has alleged that police is taking action only against the members of minority community while no action has been taken against the members of Majority community who were identified for creating the trouble. FC Bhagat , DDC said that no body from outside will be allowed to disturb peace and tranquility in Rajouri under any circumstances and for that elaborate security arrangements have been made by the district administration. |
