| No tenure norm for ex-Home Minister Nasir Wani's close relative | | Executive officer not transferred since 2009 | | Saahil Suhail ANANTNAG, June 24: In blatant violation of norms, Executive officer of Verinag Development Authority a close relative of an ex- Minister has been found working at the same office for more than six years. By virtue of a Government order No: 861- GAD of 2010 dated July 28, 2010 maximum tenure for stay of an official at one place is two years and maximum upto three years but the Executive officer of Verinag Development Authority has been found working at the same office for six year now. Locals told Early Times that officer is using his political connections to remain in the office. "He uses his political connections to stay here and continues corrupt practices," they said. They said that the officer, Nazir Ahmad Thakur resident of Lasjan Srinagar is a close relative of former State Home Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, who is currently the provincial president of ruling National Conference. Interestingly, State Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir too seems to have a close connection with the officer as he too had not bothered to transfer the officer besides passage of six years now during which according to sources he has got promoted also. The officer, who treats himself the King of Verinag has earlier denied to provide information under Right to Information Act (RTI) sought by a local Youth Hilal Ahmad. Despite repeated attempts Commissioner Secretary General Administrative Department (GAD) couldn't be contacted. |
