Jammu, June 24 : Resentment is at galore in police deptt as despite of holding series of Darbars by successive Police Chiefs, the issues in police force remain unaddressed, the men in Khakhi told Early Times Maintaining on their grievances they said that the Director General of Police (DGP) of the esteemed Jammu and Kashmir Police is busy in holding Marathon Darbars at different locations across the state after assuming the charge for his current inning, but the important issues taken up by the Police officers/officials during the Darbar held by the predecessor of the present incumbent have not been resolved so far.
These issues include enhancement of Ration money/Medical allowances/hardship allowance upto 20%/regularization of SPO's/provision of mess at every police unit/service matter like fixation of Seniority of SI's Executive of 2002 batch, removal of pay anomalies. The SI's appointed in year 2008 have been granted with the seniority benefit with 2000 batch of SI' s their pay has been notionally brought at par with 2000 batch but the same is not the case with the SI's of 2002 batch who have joined in the year 2005. Similarly the SI's of 2000 batch even after completion of 14 years of service are serving in the same rank despite of the fact that the officers/officials of ministerial executive cadre/armed police are granted with the promotion benefit after completion of 5 to 6 years of service in their respective ranks. The constables who have been appointed in 1998 are still constables only a few of them have been promoted . Pinning the high hope on the present DGP K. Rajindra, they said that the Transfer
Policy framed by him while his short tenure as DGP earlier had left in lurch, adding , one cannot give deaf ear to the issue of t transfer policy as many SI's and Inspectors are serving in Jammu/Kashmir zone since long and have even been promoted to the rank of Dy.SP's but are still serving in Jammu/Kashmir Zone specially in Ranges. Will the holding of Darbar prove beneficial are not, but it will definitely be recorded in the Police records that present DGP is also continuing the same practice of holding present Darbar only to show it a
formality but not for the actual benefit of the Police work force, they said. Since the practice of holding Darbar was very much prevalent during the regime of then King ship of Maharaja Akbar but the decisions were taken by the then Maharaja on spot. But on the other hand the present holding darbars have not proved fruitful so far. Meanwhile, DGP K.Rajindra, when contacted said that the issues have been pursued with the government of India and hopefully the genuine issues will be resolved ,but it cannot be done in overnight.
Assuring transparency, he said, " since it goes twenty days of assigning the charge of this coveted post, but the genuine demands of my boys in respect of transfer policy will be streamlined soon". Talking on seniority, he said, "seniority issue on account of various serving individuals going to the courts. Decision can be taken only after judicial verdict".
