New Delhi, July 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate Eid in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said. According to reports, Narendra Modi is expected to visit Jammu and Kashmir on July 17, one day before Eid (if moon sighted). It will be Modi's first visit after PDP-BJP coalition government was formed in March this year. During his visist, Narendra Modi will celebrate Eid, one of the two biggest festivals of Muslim community, with flood victims there. Modi may also announce the financial package for the state that suffered devastation last year due to massive floods. Narendra Modi visited Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Diwali last year. Modi has visited the state six times since he took charge as the PM. The expected visit on Eid is aimed at to fill the rift created between PDP and BJP on several issues. Congress party has criticised Narendra Modi for not mentioning Ramadan month in his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme last month. |
