| BJP ministers make mockery of PSC panel | | High command takes note, mulls action | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: Undue interference of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers in the selection of the Public Service Commission (PSC) members has made a mockery of the premier recruitment agency of Jammu and Kashmir. The only qualification, of a few members recommended by the BJP ministers for the PSC panel, is that they enjoy the political backing of the powerful men. A university based Professor's name was recommended for the PSC panel by the BJP's minister due to her close affiliation with him. Similarly, another member was recommended by a BJP minister just on the basis of him belonging to a particular caste. This PSC member recommended by the BJP minister is a non-entity. Another person whose name was recommended by the erstwhile NC-Cong regime but was rejected by the Governor N N Vohra is trying his best to take advantage of him belonging to reserved category. He is making rounds of the office chambers and the residences of the BJP ministers to somehow get his name inducted into the prestigious PSC panel again. Meanwhile, another little known person having no significant contribution was recommended by a BJP minister to PSC panel due to his close affiliation with the family members of the BJP minister. Sources told Early Times the top BJP leadership has taken a serious note of the "misdeeds" of the BJP ministers. "BJP top brass in New Delhi has come to know that their ministers in Jammu and Kashmir are promoting their own agenda and are least bothered about party's image. A few BJP ministers may get a big surprise in coming days as the central leadership is contemplating to sack them," said a source. |
