| Major bovine smugglers bid foiled, 12 held | | | Kishtwar July 7: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling in District Doda, police today foiled a major bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of twelve bovine smugglers and rescuing atleast 43 bovine animals during special naka at Nagni Top under jurisdiction of Police Station Doda. According to police spokesperson, During routine patrolling at Nagni Top, the police party from Police Station Doda intercepted some people who were moving alongwith some animals on foot. During questioning the said persons failed to provide requisite documents/permission from nodal authorities for transporting animals and thus were arrested on the spot. "The accused have been identified as Sajjad Ahmed and Naem Ahmed (both sons of Mohd Hanief Malik) Ghulam Abbas Malik s/o Ghulam Hassan Malik, Maqsood Ahmed s/o Ghulam Moiudin Malik, Danish s/o Gh Mohiudin, Bashir Ahmed s/o Zaheer, Mohd Sharief s/o Abdul Rashid, Umar and Sohab (both sons of Farooq Ahmed) Yaseen s/o Mohd Shafi, Farooq Ahmed s/o Mangta and Abdul Aziz r/o Abdul Khaliq all are residents of Jajote Malna, police spokesperson said. He said the police also rescued 43 Bovines from their possession which were smuggling towards Srinagar by foot and a case FIR No 108/353/ 332/ 323/ 147 148, 188. RPC 3 PC Act stands registered against accused at Police Station Doda while further investigation is in progress. |
