| Police-Lawyers locked horns over alleged 'misbehavior’ by Cops | | | Kishtwar July 7: The Lawyers in Kishtwar court and police today in locked horns after advocates alleged that police personal misbehaved with an advocate during a nakka near court complex Kishtwar. As per the details available with "Early Times", advocate Amir Waza while parking his vehicle near Kishtwar Court Complex was allegedly misbehaved by a police constable who besides using unparliamentarily language deflated tyres of his vehicle. "As the news reached to other lawyers in court, , the Young Lawyer Association led by Amees Mir held a strong protest and also blocked main road outside Kishtwar court complex disrupting the vehicular movement on Kishtwar, reports said. Meanwhile senior members of Bar Association Kishtwar (BAK) also joined the protest and demanded immediate registration of an FIR against the erring cop, beside his immediate arrest. Later SHO Kishtwar and agitating lawyers sat across the table to pacify the matter but the lawyers didn't budge from their demands and served an ultimatum to police to arrest the erring police personal, otherwise they will start an indefinite strike from Wednesday. When contacted President Young Lawyer Association Kishtwar Amees Mir confirmed that deadlock over negotiation between police and agitating lawyers and added that lawyer community will not budge from its demand i.e. the arrest of erring cop. |
