| Poor Healthcare: Ramnagar Block has 173 posts short against sanctioned 221 post | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 7: Expressing their concern over the acute shortage of staff in health sector in Ramnagar block of Udhampur district, the people of Ramnagar have urged the concerned ministry and authorities to fill up the vacant posts of doctors and Para medical staff at earliest to streamline ailing healthsector failing which they will be forced to come to streets. The locals lamented due to lack of doctors, paramedical staff patients admitted in the Sub District Hospital (SDH) Ramnagar, Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Medical Add Centers (MACs), Sub Center (SCs) people especially in far remote areas are facing many hardships. Sometime the emergencies turned into loss precious human lives who succumb on the way to major health institute be it DH Udhampur or the Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu. They said that Ramnagar Block has 173 posts short against sanctioned 221 posts which itself reveals that how sick is the health sector in Ramnagar block which is entrusted to take care of health of huge populace. While seeking attention of the concerned authorities towards the issue locals said Sub District Hospital (SDH) Ramnagar as many as post of sanctioned Surgeon Specialist, Physician Specialist, Gynacologist/ Pediatrician, Jr Anesthetist, Sr Ophthalmology Technician, Food Inspector and many other posts are still lying vacant across the block. "The Government has failed to fill up these posts till date despite the public protests and submission of memorandum of demands to the successive health ministers and concerned authorities, they added. They warned if concerned authorities if they fail to fill up the vacant posts the people will be left with no option but to come to streets in favour of their demands Meanwhile Block Medical Officer (BMO) Ramnagar Dr Rajesh Gupta when contacted briefly said that he had communicated higher authorities about the shortage of staff and to sanction due staff. |
