| DA Case: E&T Officer lands in vigilance net | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: The sleuths of Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) registered a case against Sub Inspector of Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department namely Javid Ahmad Shah for possession of Disproportionate Assets (DA) to his known sources of income. According to official spokesperson, a case under FIR No.32/2015 u/s 5(1)e r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act -2006 was registered against Sub Inspector of Excise and Taxation Department Javid Ahmad Shah @ Rafiqui S/o Pir Bashir Ahmad Shah of Babanar Shopian A/P Drusooo Pulwama for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. During course of investigation, it was found that the official by abuse of his official position indulged in corrupt practices and accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. "After obtaining search warrant from the Court simultaneous searches were conducted at five different places today morning including the residential, official and business premises of accused official and the residential houses of his relatives at Shopian, Pulwama and Qazigund, he said and added, "during the searches, VOK sleuths seized incriminating documents which are being scrutinized while further investigation of the case is in progress. |
