Jammu, May 22: The new principal of the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu has made a “mockery” of the system by adopting a flip-flop approach vis-à-vis handling sensitive administrative issues.
According to the details available with Early Times GMC Principal Dr Nasib Chand Digra has once again shown his “administrative immaturity” by first issuing an order and then withdrawing it. In the process he has defied the government order which was issued after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On March 28, 2020, Jammu and Kashmir Government issued an order No. 347 –(JK) HME stating: “Extraordinary situation has arisen due to the spread of COVID 19, a declared public health emergency. This order is being issued for engaging contractual appointment of faculty members and paramedical and nursing staff in Govt Medical Colleges, Srinagar and Jammu, who have superannuated from March 2018 and are likely to superannuate in next six months after the issuance of this order. JAMMU, May 22: Chances are high that the Jammu and Kashmir government may restore high speed mobile internet services in the Union Territory by or before May 27, this year, official sources divulged here.
It was informed that two review meetings in this regard were held in the recent past wherein emphasis was laid for the restoration of high speed mobile internet in Jammu and Kashmir. Deliberations were also held over whether the 4G services should be restored in a phased manner depending upon the law and order situation of the area where the authorities intend to make the services functional.

JAMMU, May 22: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir which has over 1.5 lakh youth with post-graduation or higher degrees hankering for jobs, the college faculty members have demanded enhancement of retirement age from 60 to 65 years.

SRINAGAR, May 22: For a change no Covid-19 related death was reported in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir today even though 40 fresh cases of novel Corona Virus came to the fore from different districts of the union territory.
