Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 22: On the intervention of a minister, police department has dropped charges against a DSP, against whom an inquiry was initiated in 2014, and given him a clean chit. The DSP was serving in the traffic wing of police in Kashmir region when a probe was initiated against him in 2014. As he faced severe allegations, a notice was also served upon him by the department. He replied to the notice after one month. Not satisfied with the reply, the home department ordered a probe against him and appointed a DIG rank officer (now IGP) as inquiry officer. Police sources said soon after the order of inquiry against him, he was transferred from traffic police to IRP. "After two years of investigation, charges against him have surprisingly been dropped at the instance of the Kashmir-based minister and he has been given a clean chit," sources claimed. The inquiry report, submitted to the home department in June this year, says that a warning has been issued to the DSP not to indulge in wrongdoings in future. The home department had accepted this report, sources said. The minister was now trying to manage a good posting for the DSP. |
