| Social activist seeks asylum to escape BJP MLA's wrath | | People show concern, torch lawmaker's effigy | | ET Report
sunderbani, Sept 22: Scared by the harassment of BJP MLA social activist Ajay Sharma of Sunderbani, has appealed to the general public as well as the administration to help him come out of the agony.
It is pertinent to mention that the said MLA a few days back, had launched an offensive against a social worker Ajay Sharma charging him to be a reporter of a news paper who had been carrying negative stories against him.
The MLA's goons had caught the victim at Sunderbani area and thrashed him black and blue and left him only when he fell unconscious. He was later removed to Sub District hospital Nowshera where doctors attending upon him referred to Government Medical College Jammu.
The victim was taken under observation and was treated for grievous injuries in the hospital. Still recuperating in the Hospital, the victim while talking to early times said that MLA had launched offensive against him at Sunderbani few days back with a charge that he was reporting against him in a local newspaper.
Ajay said that earlier also, the MLA had send him threats through various means and even had challenged him to do away with his life .
However, the sources here point that the MLA had come to know that the said victim was a regular contributor of news items from Rajouri, Sunderbani and Nowshera and had taken up negative reporting against the MLA which was not rue.
The facts also say that MLA had some family feud with Ajay Sharma's family over some piece of land which belonged to Ajay Sharma, which the MLA had wanted forcibly to encroach, which led to indifferences between the both.
However, a day before , the people drawn from Nahoti, Patrada and adjoining villages assembled at Sunderbani and raised slogans against MLA and demanded his expulsion from the MLAship.
"Before going into elections, he used to come to our doors begging for votes and now after becoming an MLA of governing political party he has turned goon and started harassing people," was a general comment that came from all people protesting against the MLA .
The residents of Nowshera even torched the effigy of the MLA and dubbed him as criminal who has taken the entire Nowshera constituency under the reign of his threat.
Meanwhile the people of the area as well as Ajay Kumar, who fears threat to his life has appealed to the government to take the cognizance of the goon MLA and relieve the people of the constituency of his continuous threat. |
