RAMBAN, Sept 22: National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) flayed the government and college management for deplorable condition of the Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban, here today. Addressing the protesters district president NPSU Surinder Singh Rajput said that we are facing chronic deficiency of Labs, libraries, staff besides other infrastructure. He further said that despite the launch of several GoI schemes for raising the standards of higher education and sanctioning huge funds to State Government, the condition of colleges remained pathetic. He said that the college did not have the requisite infrastructure in the form of fully equipped laboratories, libraries, class rooms, besides sanctioned staff. He demanded that Post Graduation campus should be open in the college besides hostel facility separate for boys and girls. "Besides this proper transport facility should be provided to the students" he added. Calling upon the government to emphasise on consolidation, he said that the proposal to open new colleges for political reason should be put on hold till the existing colleges were provided the much needed facilities. Others present in the protest included Ashish Anthal, Gulshan Kumar, Davinder Kumarr, Rohit Sharma, Ravi Singh, Nussrat, Abid Bilal, Reyaz Ahmed and Kavita Rajput besides others. |
