| Open choice protests turn violent, 6 students, 4 cops injured in clashes | | | | Munish Gupta
Jammu, Jan 21: At least six college students and four policemen were injured during the ding dong battle between the police and the students at MAM College today as the protests and strike for open choice in University examination entered 36th consecutive day.
As per the eyewitnesses when the students under the leadership of Naseeb Ali , Yasir Farooq from MAM College ABVP Unit tried to come outside the college heavy deployment of police forces deployed tried to stop them from coming outside the college.
According to reports, police resorted to use stung guns and water canons and also used teargas when the students pelted stones on the policemen from inside the college , in retaliation that resulted in virtual clash between them which continued for few hours. Also, the vehicular movement remained suspended on the road for the period.

The entire fleet of the fund starved SRTC remained grounded as employees assembled outside the office complex of SRTC at Bikram chowk and demonstrated in support of their demands.

JAMMU, JAN 21: In a move that will bring succour to the people residing in far-flung and snowbound areas of Kishtwar district, the Government is operating weekly helicopter flights from Kishtwar to Dachhan, Marwah and Warwan from tomorrow.
The air service will provide connectivity to the people in these areas who remain cut off from the rest of the world due to heavy snowfall in winters.
The Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah had recently asked the administration to work out modalities for providing connectivity to the people of snowbound areas. The decision to operate air service to the far-flung areas of Kishtwar district is a sequel to his direction.

Jammu, Jan 21: While the travel through Cross-LoC links is constant decline due to tension between India and Pakistan, the biggest ever trade consignment was sent to traders of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) by their counterparts from Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
"This was for the first time when such a huge quantity of items was exported to PoK from Poonch yesterday," district officials said.
