SRINAGAR, Nov 27: Despite retaining massive support in his home constituency of Chrar-e-Sharief in the 7th successive Assembly election in 2008, senior National Conference (NC) leader and Minister of Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, has found himself in the worst of his times in the year 2009. His stars have favoured him only to the extent that he has got the charity of a berth in Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s Cabinet---something that eluded his junior colleague and NC crowd-puller Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan or his parallel in Congress party, Choudhary Mohammad Aslam.

| Few takers of Govt move to shift KP staff to Valley | | | |

JAMMU, NOV 27: If reports doing rounds in the civil secretariat here are any guide, Kashmiri Pandit employees have to be prepared for posting in the Valley. Both the Centre and the State Governments are said to have decided to transfer all Kashmiri Pandit employees to the Valley as part of the plan for facilitating return of the migrants to Kashmir.
Official sources today said that the decision ould be implemented strictly from March 210 onwards. In fact, a beginning has already been made and in the recent reshuffle of senior and junior Government officials a large number of employees, especially engineers have been posted in different parts of the Valley.

NEW DELHI, Nov 27: A two-judge bench of Supreme Court issued notice on Friday to the Central and the J&K governments and also to the CBI on a petition seeking a CBI probe into death in police custody of Rajneesh Sharma in Srinagar. The apex court’s notices are to be replied in four weeks time by the respondents.
Their lordships also observed that the court would hear the petition seeking among other things investigations by the CBI two weeks after the Supreme Court reopens on January 3 after the winter break.

Jammu, November-27 (JNF):- Forest Magistrate Jammu Mr. Yahaya Firdous who is also Duty Magistrate has granted six days more police remand of Choudhary Jagar Singh and Choudhary Rakesh Singh who are already in the police since November 21, 2009. regarding the remand of Choudhary Nagar Singh alias Nago, Duty Magistrate granted only one days further police remand with the direction to SIT to produce the accused before the hospital for medical examination as his medical report produced by the SIT is not clear, so Duty Magistrate directed SIT to do fresh medical check-up of Nagar Singh also Nago.
