Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 13: The decision of the BJP Lok Sabha member from Jammu, Jugal Kishore Sharma to maintain a guarded silence over the arrest of veteran politician Choudhary Lal Singh by the Enforcement Directorate is a clear indication that the Saffron Party is divided on this issue. Instead of speaking in a unanimous voice on this issue, BJP leaders are speaking in different languages over the arrest of Lal Singh. During an informal chat with media persons at Jammu during a function to celebrate Vishwakarma Day, senior BJP leader and sitting Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma refused to say any word about the arrest of Choudhary Lal Singh. “I am not aware of any development in this issue. I do not know what is the case”, Jugal Kishore Sharma said while feigning ignorance over the arrest of Choudhary Lal Singh by the ED. “Instead of asking me these questions you better ask such queries from the Enforcement Directorate”, Sharma said. Pertinently, three tourists from Bangladesh were charred to death in a major blaze in a houseboat on the famous Dal Lake on Saturday while eight people were rescued. CBI seeks sanction to file FIR against ex-DG Prisons, former IAS officer

Agencies New Delhi, Nov 13: The CBI has sought sanction from the Ministry of Home Affairs to file an FIR against former DG of prisons, Delhi, Sandeep Goel and former IAS officer Mukesh Prasad for allegedly extorting crores of rupees from various “high profile prisoners”, including alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, officials said Monday. The CBI has sent a request seeking mandatory sanction against 1989 batch IPS officer Goel, who was suspended by the ministry last year, and retired IAS officer Prasad, who was posted as the additional inspector general in Tihar, they said. The scheme -- PVTG Development Mission -- will be a huge step towards the empowerment of tribals, they said, adding that this will be a first-of-its-kind initiative. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 13: Police on Monday attached the residential house of a notorious drug peddler in the Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The double-storied residential house, according to the police, belongs to Bakhtawar Makroo, a resident of Gulzarpora Awantipora, identified as a notorious drug peddler.
