| Centre for tight security of 25 VVIPs, including Omar | | | |

The Centre has written to the Chief Ministers of all the states to ensure tight security for nearly two dozen VVIPs, including Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul and Priyanka, during the election campaign.
Accordintg to official sources, the letter written by Union home minister P Chidambaram, has listed out the 'Dos and Don'ts' to be ensured by the state police and paramilitary forces during their electioneering.
The home minister's missive comes in the wake of intelligence reports suggesting that terrorists may attack key leaders in the run up to the polls.
In his letter, Chidambaram has asked all the states to maintain tight vigil at the venues of all political rallies addressed by or having VVIP presence.
State governments have been asked to convince the local leaders of the political parties about the security drills and arrangements to be put in place during the campaign, official sources said.

Jammu, Apr 1 : Noted Bollywood actor and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha would address an election rally here tomorrow in the bordering villages of the winter capital ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, party sources said here today.
''Mr Sinha will address public rallies in bordering villages Gajansoo Marh and Ranbir Singh Pura as a part of campaign for the BJP candidates contesting Parliamentary polls,'' the party sources told .
Mr Sinha, will be on a day-long visit and after addressing election rallies in the afternoon, he would return back in the evening, they said.

AMRITSAR:In the wake of the terror attack on the Police Training Academy in Lahore, Pakistan has stopped the movement of Indian buses beyond the Wagah border for security reasons, an Indian official said today.
Lahore-bound Indian buses are being evacuated at the Wagah border and their passengers shifted to Pakistani tourist buses for their onward journey due to rising security concerns following the attack on the Academy, an official posted at the international Attari check post said.
After the attack at the Police Training Centre close to the Wagah border, security agencies in Pakistan are apprehensive that Indian buses could be next on the target of terrorists.

Jammu, April 1 Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh are set to review the security in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the polls during their two-day visit to the state beginning Thursday, official sources said here.
The two officials will conduct the security review along with army, paramilitary forces and state government officials in the two cities of Srinagar and Jammu.
“Major talking points would be the rise in infiltration from across the Line of Control (LoC) and internal security,” an official said.
The Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir are being held in five phases beginning April 16.
